Can trying to appeal to everyone make a brand less memorable?

How to Build a Memorable Brand by Saying Less

In my recent review of several business websites, one pattern stood out: many brands describe themselves with a long list of strong claims—innovative, affordable, premium, customer-focused, reliable, industry-leading—often all on a single page.

Each attribute is valuable on its own, but when every brand claims the same qualities, the messaging becomes hard to recall. This observation suggests that memorability may come from choosing what not to say, as much as from what to say.

Has anyone else noticed this trend? Exploring how selective messaging can sharpen brand identity and improve recall could be a worthwhile topic for further discussion.
